Playing two sports at such a high level, it is difficult to spend time devoting to one or the other. "I played a lot this summer; I played a lot with the school," he said.
"I was going to play select but with football I really couldn't devote that much time to it. I really wanted to, but I had to focus on both. I enjoyed the state games a lot though."
His answer on which sport he prefers depends upon the time of year that you ask him. "I am focused on whatever sport is going on at the time, it is hard for me to look ahead," he said. "I'd tell you my favorite is whatever season it is at the time."
Though he doesn't like to look ahead, he did give us a sneak peak at the baseball team for the Cougars next season.
"We are only going to have one senior, but I think we are going to still be pretty good," he said. "We have guys with experience even though they are not seniors so we'll be fine. I expect my role to be one of the leaders because of my experience. I am going to try and lead by example and hopefully they'll look up to me."
Though he hesitates to name a favorite sport, he does have a leader when it comes to playing in college.
"I hope to play baseball at the next level, honestly," he said when asked of his future plans.
"My dream has always been hopefully to be drafted. I am hearing from Southern Miss, Northwestern Louisiana, and Tulane is contacting me as well. If I could name a leader in baseball I'd definitely say Southern."
