Mason Names A New Leader

Southern Miss has had a lot of success in out of state recruiting this year. Interest is heating up for another Georgia prospect, and GoldenEaglePride.com talked with the 6'6 receiver about his recruitment and where he stands today in his decision making process.

Mason is a name that has been drawing a lot of interest with his height, speed, and good hands. He currently holds eight offers, but in an interview with GoldenEaglePride.com tonight, he was ready to name a favorite

"Well, its been pretty busy lately, I hear a lot from Maryland, Southern Miss, and Virginia, but I like Southern Miss a lot and plan to take my official visit in January on the 21st," he said in an update of his recruitment.

"Coach Dunn is my recruiter, and they throw the ball a lot," he added. "My position also gets a lot of balls thrown that way, and that is what I like about it."

As mentioned earlier, he will be making his official in January, and he wants to wait until then to make his decision.

"I hope to make my decision in January, and at the moment I think Southern Miss is at the top," he said, which is good news to Southern Miss fans.

He also holds offers from Air Force, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Kentucky, Marshall, and Southern Miss. The long and rangy receiver would look to play a role similar to Johdrick Morris from this past year. Southern Miss has plans to use him as a combo WR/ TE.

For now, the two sport athlete will get started on his other love. I will be playing baseball now in the spare time until football starts back up," he said.

We'll keep an update on his recruitment, and keep you informed of everything inside Southern Miss recruiting. Stay locked here at GoldenEaglePride.com
