Greg Howard profile
Southern Miss has had great success coming out of these big recruiting weekends. Every prospect coming out of their trips to Hattiesburg have raved about the time they have had.
Gordo, AL defensive lineman Greg Howard is no different. He is finishing up his recruitment, and had nothing but great things to say about Southern Miss.
"It just feels like a great welcoming environment," he said. "Everyone feels like family, and when I met the players it was just like I was one of them."
"They really took me under their wing," he added.
As always, the coaches had a direct impact on the weekend. "The coaches were straightforward with me," he said. "They didn't beat around the bush, and I really liked that."
"Overall, it was the environment that I really liked."
Howard said Ross Smith was his host for the weekend, and that he is not sure yet about where he may land. "I have not decided yet," he said when asked about his commitment status.
"Southern Miss has not offered me, but I feel that is a place I'd definitely like to play," he said, also mentioning Troy and Auburn as possible destinations.
Would he consider walking on at Southern Miss? "That is certainly an option," he said. "I will have to go home, talk about it, pray about it, and see what happens."
Howard said he'll have a decision before Wednesday.
