Billingsley had an outstanding season as he made the move to Center for Memphis East this past season. The Junior prospect is already looking ahead to what he can do in his senior season.
"This season I feel like I became a leader on my team, as I really improved my game a lot," he said.
"I feel like I improved as I became more aggressive and explosive off the ball."
He made the transition to center from other positions along the offensive line. "I am learning how to become a better center because I am used to being a guard and tackle," he added. "I am becoming now a full time Center."
His team runs a spread similar to the style in so many of the Conference USA offenses.
One school that has always stood out to him is Southern Miss.
"They have been a school I've wanted to hear from since I was a freshman," he said. "They have what I want in a college."
"I like how they are a Conference USA team, are a top 25 team, and they have always been a very solid football school. They are always up at our school, we will always see their coaches up here, and they are doing a good job in Memphis."
"I am just waiting on my chance with them really."
The coaching changes have no effect on his desire to go there.
"It is about the school and players, and we know coaches will come and go."
GoldenEaglePride.com will continue to watch him as he gets into his senior season, and stick with us for inside recruiting information.
