Perry is a linebacker from Bessemer, AL, and committed back in June when Coach Fedora and Company were recruiting him.
Fortunately for the Eagles, Perry has not waivered about his commitment to Southern Miss even with the coaching change.
"I was down there Friday, and I just got back today," he said of his visit. "Friday we sat down and ate with the coaches and player hosts."
"Saturday we went out with our student hosts again, toured the weight room, and did some academic stuff," he added. "Then we went out with the coaches and ate with them again."
Terrick Wright was the host for Perry.
There is no doubt that Perry still remains committed to Southern Miss.
"I was able to meet all the coaches, and when I was there it felt like home still," he said. "There was no difference to me between the old and new coaches. I still felt loved down there."
They plan on using Perry as an inside linebacker at the next level. They plan on him both defending the run and pass.
"I'm going to be working on my hips and getting faster and stronger," he said. "I'm going to keep working hard to get on the field next year."
