Sloter was one of almost twenty recruits who took part in a huge weekend on campus in Hattiesburg.
The big 6'5, 200lb. quarterback from Mt. Pisgah, GA, updated us on how the visit went in an interview this afternoon.
"It went great," he said. "We got to tour around the campus and saw the facilities and football field, and we also saw all the equipment."
"I really like everything that Southern Miss has to offer. The coaches really made me feel at home and made me feel like I was one that they could count on to help them win some football games."
"They showed us around and I had a great time with Acosta, it was a lot of fun," he said.
So where does the huge QB stand on his commitment after the visit?
"Well right now I am just in the process of making a decision," he said. "I am talking with my family and am trying to make a good decision because both schools have a lot to offer."
"It is going to be a tough decision, but it is one that we are talking about right now, and getting some input from other family members. I will make a decision sometime early next week."
Are there any other schools in the mix?
"As of right now I don't think I'll be considering any other schools," he said. "It is down to Tulane and Southern Miss. The whole process is a fun one, but it is really taxing as well, I am ready to make a decision."
Sloter was recruited by Coach Bustle, who had formed a relationship with him at Tulane.
"I talked with Coach Bustle who started recruiting me last July," he said. "The whole coaching situation went down over there, and he left and put my name up there at Southern Miss. The coaches liked my film. He is one who believes in me to run this type of offense."
"He also said the QB is going to have to run in this offense, and I can do that," he added. "Being this tall and running like I can is a pretty rare combination. I think I'd be a good fit in this offense."
