Pace is an explosive, shifty type of back who has great strength as well. Think Jeremy Hester when you watch him play.
He joined teammate Jeremy Lee in taking in the spring game in Hattiesburg.
"I liked the spread offense I saw and the no huddle, man that was awesome," he said. "I love to see them throw it all over the field."
He also enjoyed the atmosphere and big time talent he observed.
"There was a lot of speed all over the field, and watching guys like Tracey Lampley, I just really liked that," he added. "I liked seeing how the quarterback had to make a lot of decisions and try to read the defense."
Pace said he could see himself fitting into that offense because of his versatility running and catching the ball out of the backfield.
"I think I'd be a good fit in that type of offense," he said.
"I loved meeting the coaches, they asked me what I thought of the program and I told them that I loved it. They said they'll come see me play this spring and I am hoping they'll give me an offer."
Pace plans on heading north for the Ole Miss spring game next weekend. He is also hearing from the Rebels but didn't name any favorite school at this point.
West Marion had several recruits at the spring game Saturday, and one who is hearing from Southern Miss came away impressed.
