Southern Miss doesn't have to look far to find some quality talent. In fact, right in their own back yard is the type of player that has been successful in the Eagle's system.
Today, they paid a visit to watch LB Stacey Garner practice.
"It went well today, I had a real good practice," he updated GoldenEaglePride.com. "I played some linebacker and safety as well. I felt real good out there today."
Garner is hearing a lot from Southern Miss right now, as Coach Buckley is doing the bulk of recruiting for south Mississippi.
"Coach Buckley told me the coaches really like me, and that they want to see me up close at camp on June 9th so they can evaluate me further," he said. "They said if I keep working I'll get an offer from them most likely."
"The other news is that I was invited to a try-out for the Under 19 Nationals in Austin Texas in July. I'm real excited about that."
For now, there are not any visits until after his spring practice. He plans to just keep working and hoping for that first offer soon.
