Wednesday Recruiting Tid-Bits

The Eagle coaching staff is just about to begin the traveling camps in a few weeks, and recruiting is really starting to pick up. Here are a few tid-bits the staff has learned over the past couple of days.

Here are a few things I shared in chat last night about recruiting:

--Spain Park (AL) defensive lineman Jacob Chaffin is making a visit to Southern Miss on Thursday. In talking with him, I get the sense that the Eagles are #1 on his list, and a commitment is possible after his visit if things go really well.

--Terrell Woods, DL/LB from Boaz (AL) will be camping with the Eagles on the 11th. I shared last night that he is one to really watch because he loves the way the Eagle coaches plan to use him. He has watched Jamie Collins and they think he could be that type of player.

--Hakim Gray, LB North Desoto High (LA) also coming to camp with the Eagles. Coach Fobbs made a visit to see him last Wednesday, and he likes what they are saying to him as well. LSU and SMU are becoming players with him as well.

--Nicholas Haynes, TE/OT, Niceville (FL) looks like he is out of the running for Southern Miss. He said has not heard from them since his offer, and he has no plans to camp with the Eagles. That's a pretty good indication that he's no longer considering them.

--Jamal Lucas, LB, Hoover (AL) is a really good one. Right now its between Southern Miss and MSU, but that could change as more offers come in for him. He's taking a visit to Georgia in a few weeks.

--A few more names I've gotten word that the Eagles are pursuing in state, Chase Delee, Centreville Academy (OL) and Jawon Johnson, (DL) out of Starkville.

--We are also getting in on another defensive back out of McAdory (AL), Darius Jackson. Recommended Stories
