Brandon Acker is a wide receiver from Hattiesburg High who has been on the radar of Southern Miss since the new staff has taken over back in January.
Today, they were able to get a good evaluation of the Hattiesburg star, and he said he was pleased with his performance.
"I thought it went real well," he said of the camp. "We worked on a bunch of agility drills, position drills, we ran the 40, broad jump, and a lot of one on ones.
"My foot has been bothering me a lot so I had to play through that but I still was happy with the way I played."
Acker has been hearing a lot from the coaches, and he said they really liked what they saw. "I was able to really talk to my position coach today, and he's been with me since they started recruiting me," he said.
"They told me I have a great shot at an offer if I can keep working and keep improving. Coach Buckley also talked to me as well and said he's known about me for a while and he really likes what I can do."
Acker will be taking in a few more camps and visiting other campuses as well as spending time working out the rest of the summer. He already has taken in camp at Mississippi State, and he said he is also going to Tulane, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana Lafayette.
