The experience was a great one for him and cemented his decision to be an Eagle.
"I am totally committed to Southern Miss," he said Sunday in an interview with GoldenEaglePride.com.
"We all had a great time on campus. It was a great atmosphere. The campus isn't to big or to small. Everyone is so friendly and the fans are fantastic. I just had a great time and know this is where I want to be in school."
Osborne went into detail about his time at the game.
"Once we got signed in they really took care of us," he said. "They had a girl meet us and she took us to get something to eat. Then we went into the athletic offices and sat down with Coach Johnson for a little while.
"We had a good talk with him. We talked about the team and just some things going on with the program. Then, we got to go down to the field and we watched them warm up. I talked to D.J. (Thompson) and enjoyed getting to spend a few minutes with my former teammate."
Osborne loved the crowd and game day atmosphere. "I enjoyed all of it, the crowd was awesome," he said. "Then a guy won a Jeep and that was really cool. I hate they lost but they will be fine and will get a lot better this year."
Osborne said he's been pleased with his performance so far this season.
"I am second on the team in tackles and our defense has been really good this year," he said. "We've been a lock down defense even though our offense has struggled.
"I might have a chance to get some snaps at QB this week so I am real excited about that."
