Hardin Takes in Junior Day At Southern Miss

Several Florecnce, AL prospects made the trip South to Hattiesburg for junior day. Lineman Cole Hardin talks about his visit, his impressions, and what the coaching staff had to tell him.

Cole Hardin is an offensive lineman from Florence, Alabama. Him and several teammates took in junior day from Hattiesburg, MS, on the campus of Southern Miss.

He gave us a quick follow up to the visit and what the coaches had to say to him today.

"Things went really well, I really enjoyed it," he said.

"We got there this morning and they had a few restaurants that catered a great lunch for us. We got to eat, visit with coaches, and we got to take tours of all the facilities."

Hardin, who already has an offer, said the coaches took time to talk with him specifically.

"While we were taking our tours, Coach Thacker pulled me to the side and I got to talk to Coach Monken," he said. "I really enjoyed it.

"He said they enjoyed watching my film and everyone who went to the school and coached thought very highly of me. They want me to come and play lineman for them.

"They were all real energetic and friendly. They said I'll most likely red shirt and take a year to get bigger. Coach Perot told me he'd really like me along the line."

Hardin said he's not quite ready to commit just yet, but said Southern Miss is in the top two for him right now.

"I'm enjoying the process right now. I don't want to commit anywhere until I take all my visits, sit down with my parents, and talk everything over. Southern Miss is right at the top though."

Hardin also holds an offer to Wake Forrest and said he's taking in practice at South Alabama this week.

He's taking the next few weeks to get bigger and just work out until spring practice.
