Basketball Stock Report

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles with Coach Tyndall and his staff are out in full force on the recruiting trail as they continue to build the program for the future. Here is a look some of the targets of the class of 2014 and where they stand.

Here is a look at some of the basketball prospects from the class of 2014 and where they stand:

-Ayinde Sprewell, SG, Three Rivers CC- "Spree" is the nephew of Latrell Sprewell and has several offers on the table. He is a big guard, at 6'4, he is explosive and can score in bunches. He's also hearing from Ole Miss, USF, Tennessee, and Georgia. It appears the Eagles are in the mix but have a lot of work to do to get him to Hattiesburg.

-Kendall Crute, SG, Marietta (GA) Kell HS- Crute is a talented guard who is also a scorer and tenacious defender. He's the type of guard the Eagle's are looking for. At 6'4, he's a very good defender and can also slash and get to the basket. He holds offers from Murray State, Kennesaw State, UAB, and Southern Miss. The Eagles are in great shape with him right now.

-Javis Howard, PF, Irmo HS, Columbia (SC)- Howard is an athletic 6'8 forward who has been described as someone Coach Tyndall coached to the NBA, Kenneth Feried. He's very athletic, good around the rim, and is a very good post defender. His stock is rising quickly with some good AAU performances, and Southern Miss is very high on his list.

-Zane Waterman, PF, Fayetteville HS (NC)- Waterman is a 6'8 forward with great ball skills who can score and defend any front court position. He has offers from St. Joe's, Appalachian St, Charlotte, and Southern Miss. He's taking a visit to Southern Miss later in the summer, and is very high on the coaches and program. He's also performing well in AAU and is one to watch closely.

-LaBarrius Hill, PF, Parrish HS (AL)- Hill is a bruiser out of the mold of Jonathan Mills. Close to Birmingham, Hill has not yet received an offer from Southern Miss but is very high on the list as he's been visited by the coaching staff.

-Torien Moore, SG, Jacksonville (FL)- Moore has been receiving interest from Southern Miss for a while, and feels he is very close to an offer to the Eagles. He loves the program, and will likely commit if he does get that offer to the Golden Eagles. He's a 6'4 guard who can score and defend.

-Ike Okwarabizie, PF, St. Louis Christian (MO)- Okwarabizie is a very intriguing prospect. Southern Miss is his first offer. He's very raw, but immensely talented, and I'm told he already has an NBA type frame. He's not been playing basketball very long, but has all the tools to be great. Credit Tyndall and his staff for going after this rising talent.

-Kyle Castin, SG, Hillgrove (GA)- Castin does not yet have an offer to Southern Miss, but the Eagles have expressed early interest. -Amir Warnock, C, Suwanee (GA)- Warnock is a do-it-all 6'9 forward who can score from inside, outstide, and is great around the rim. He also does not yet have an offer from Southern miss but is talking with the coaches about that possibility.

-Oliver Black, F, Wingfield HS (MS)- Black is long and athletic as a forward. He is one of the better prospects in Mississippi, and has offers from the Eagles, Miami (FL), MSU, and Ole Miss. Coach Tyndall and his staff are working hard to get some guys to stay in state.

-Levi Strong, PF, Hancock HS (MS)- Strong is a rising star in the state of Mississippi, and at 6'8 has a ton of upside. Very athletic and still developing, he'll be one that will continue to turn heads. He's been offered by Dayton, USM, and Southeastern LA.

-Brisby Brown, PG, Forest Hill HS (MS)- Brown is a super quick PG who has a game similar to Neil Watson. He's smooth with the ball in his hands and runs an offense well. Brown has been offered by USM, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech. Recommended Stories
