Heard On Camp: "Loved The Energy"

Heard On Camp: "Loved The Energy"

The Golden Eagles had a very successful camp on campus today from all the reports coming out. We caught up with a lineman from North Pontotoc who made the trip south to take in the day at Southern Miss.

North Pontotoc rising senior Kenyana Heard came south to Hattiesburg to take in camp at Southern Miss today.

He talked about his impressions and thoughts on the day.

"I loved the energy of the coaches!" Heard commented when asked what stood out to him about camp today.

"Their energy rubbed off on me and got me going. There is something about this place that makes me just feel like I'm at home. I really love it here."

Heard said the coaches had a lot of positive things to tell him after camp.

"They said they loved the way I moved around today," he said. "They loved my energy and the way I finished drills.

"The head Coach, Coach Monken, told me he really liked that out of me today.

"The coaches really liked me. The DL coach wants me to stay in touch and come back, and so does the head coach. They will be down in the fall to watch me play."

Heard does not currently hold any offers, but he is very close to a few.

"Memphis, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech are all showing me the love," he said. "Though I don't have any offers, I'm going to just keep grinding.

"It just makes me play harder and work harder. I know its going to work out. This is just motivation for me to keep working."

Heard said he has a D1 elite camp in Louisiana and a 247 sports combine coming up.
