Brown Turns Heads At Camp

Phillip Brown of Spain Park HS in Alabama continues to see his stock rise as he takes in more and more camps this summer. Today he participated in the Southern Miss/ Alabama St. combined camp, and the coaches came away impressed. He talked about it with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Phillip Brown is a 6'4, 200lb WR from Spain Park. With nice size and speed, Brown is under the radar at this point, but that is changing as he is taking in camps and gets more evaluation.

Today, he showed the Southern Miss and Alabama State staff what he could do at their camp in Birmingham.

"I think I did well today, I had a lot of fun and made some plays down the field which I was real proud of," he told GoldenEaglePride.com after camp.

"Every day is a grind for me, and I know I just have to keep working. That is what I do, just keep at it and don't take any days off."

He was able to talk to the Golden Eagle coach recruiting him.

"I talked with Coach Woz after the camp today," he informed us. "He said I did real well and he's going to give me a call back in a week and let me know.

"Hopefully I'll hear the good news and I'll get that offer."

Brown has a few other camps to take in over the next week or so.

"I'm heading up to Tennessee and then to Western Kentucky," he said. "But, this is what I want right here.

"I know I need to work on my speed out of my cuts and being able to plant on my right foot. That is the biggest area I'm going to be working on."
