"I had a great camp, it was a really fun time for us all," Mikell said after the camp.
"The coaches offered me, and I committed right away. I was excited about it, the coaches were intense and they helped me. I know I got better today and that showed me that I was where I needed to be."
Mikell said he told Coach Monken right after camp today.
"I just got out of his office, and I told him that I was ready to be a Golden Eagle and that I committed," he said.
"The coaches told me that they see me either as a DB or as a WR."
"I love the staff, and they want to give me a chance to play football. They just weren't all about my speed, but saw me as a complete player."
Mikell has plenty of speed. He was clocked at a 4.3 at the camp, he told me afterward.
"Its a good day to be a Golden Eagle," he said. "I feel real good. I can go home, know my decision is made, play ball, and get ready to go to Southern Miss."
