Franks Impresses At Southern Miss Camp

Seth Franks of Tuscaloosa County HS has been busy this summer taking in camps and working out with his high school. Saturday, he was one of many prospects on campus at Southern Miss participating in the Elite Camp. He took a few minutes to talk about his experience with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Seth Franks is a rising junior (class of 2015) QB from Tuscaloosa County High School in Newport, AL.

He will be one to watch closely as he continues his career and heads toward thinking about playing at the next level.

The Golden Eagles were able to see him up close and personal, and he certainly did not disappoint.

"We had a great day going through a bunch of agility drills, running the 40, one on one work, and hearing from the coaches," he detailed. "It was a lot of fun."

This was the second time Franks had been on campus, and he's had a great experience both times.

"I was at Junior Day last year, and I really liked it a lot," he said. "I love the facilities there, and we all enjoyed playing on the new surface."

What were some of his thoughts on the coaching staff?

"I loved all the coaches, especially Coach Woz who is my recruiting coach," he said. "We have a good relationship and I also like the recruiting coordinator and everything.

"I got to meet Coach Monken and he seemed real excited that I was there.

"They told me they are going to meet and talk, and that I have a chance for an early offer. At least I know they'll be watching me and recruiting me hard next year as well.

"I hope an offer works out, but I know I still have time as well."

Franks said this will pretty much wrap up his summer with camps.

"I'm pretty much done now with all that," he said. "We get cranked up pretty soon with our football season, so I'll be ready and excited about that and getting us as far as I can this year."

Right now, he holds an offer from Jacksonville State. He updated his current height and weight at 6'1, 180.
