The talented rising senior already has picked up offers from Florida A & M and Jacksonville State, and is drawing interest from Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Murray State.
He's also now adding Southern Miss to his top priority list.
"I picked up an offer from Southern Miss after the camp Saturday," Franks told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"First they took me off to the side after camp because they wanted me to do a few drills with them. Then they brought me to the head coach afterward, and he told my mom and I that he was offering me a scholarship.
"He said I was what they were looking for, a tall, athletic wide receiver who can be a leader on this team in the future."
Franks had nothing but great things to say about Southern Miss.
"I really liked them a lot," he said. "They showed us very detailed attention, and I love the environment they create. They are energetic and just really good coaches overall."
He has two more plans on the slate for the summer, a camp at Florida with the Gators, then another trip back to Southern Miss with his dad, who wants to see the campus as well.
"My dad is on active duty but he's going to be in town in about 10 days, and we have plans to go visit the campus over there again," he said.
He said Southern Miss at this point is his leader, and he wants to take one more visit before making his decision. He also updated that he plans to make that final decision before his senior season.
Franks will certainly be one to keep a close eye on as the summer starts to draw to a close.
