I'll keep up to date with these as we go throughout the month. Here is the latest on a large group of prospects...
Mississippi: The coaches said they would make landing in-state kids a priority, and they are doing just that.
-Jesse Jackson, WR, Petal
Offers: Ole Miss, MSU, USM, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri
The skinny: Jackson has not ruled out the Eagles, but they are on the outside looking in now. Chances seem slim at this point. 15%
-Grant Harris, DT, Clinton
Offers: LT, Memphis, Miami, MSU, USM, Tulane, Nebraska, WVU
The skinny: Harris is a coveted Defensive Tackle who is right at the top of the board for Southern Miss. He's still evaluating all his offers, but we are making a hard push at him. It is going to be extremely tough, but he loves the way the coaches are approaching his recruiting. The Nebraska offer looms pretty large for the big man who appears to really be favoring the Cornhuskers. 25%
-Trey Brown, DT, Ackerman
Offers: USM, Ole Miss, MSU
The skinny: Brown has his choice between the three in-state schools, all who are pursuing him hard. He'll take his visits, and make his decision. Early playing time could be a big factor to sway in the Eagle's favor with Brown. MSU and OM are filling up with lineman, giving the Eagles an even better shot at him. Brown has been quiet lately about his recruiting, and Southern Miss appears to be a better and better option for him. He's stopped short of naming the Eagles as his leader, but I think the chances of him ending up in black and gold are better and better. 40%
-Curtis Akins, LB, Byhalia
Offers: USM, Memphis, Middle Tennessee
The skinny: Committed to Memphis, but Southern Miss is still recruiting him along with a handful of other schools. He says he'll take a visit to Southern Miss, and anything is possible once ou get a kid on campus. The Eagles have a play with him here, stay tuned. 30%
-Breeland Speaks, DE, Jackson Calloway
Offers: ULL, MSU, USM, OM, South Carolina
Speaks wants to stay in-state, and has typically said he wants to go to either MSU or OM, until the Eagles offered a little later. Now, the big man is really keeping an eye out for the Eagles, and will be taking a visit to campus. 15%
-Elgton Jenkins, OT, Clarksdale
The skinny: Don't be fooled by the lack of offers here with this sleeper Offensive Tackle. Southern Miss is very interested, and Coach Pollard has been recruiting him well. Keep an eye on him through the official visit season for a possible offer or two. 25%
-Cameron Wiggins, DE, Ittawamba CC
Offers: Southern Miss, South Alabama
The skinny: from Scott Elkund, JCrecruiting.com: Wiggins already had an offer from Southern Miss and just recently he received an offer from South Alabama. At 6'4" and weighing in at 250 pounds, Wiggins is poised to become one of the hottest recruits this summer and if his stats from 2012 are an indication -- 23 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks in eight games -- he'll be one of the top recruits in the Mississippi ranks this fall as well.
-Chris Matthews, DE, Olive Branch
The skinny: Matthews is another talented DE, and at 6'5, his size is going to be a nice factor for him. He doesn't hold an offer from the Eagles yet that we've been able to report. Keep an eye on him as the summer wears on, however.
-Travarius Moore, ATH, Quitman
Offers: none The skinny: Super sleeper Moore started to open eyes with an incredible 4.3 at camp, and demonstrating incredible athletic ability. He's being contacted by the coaches at Southern Miss who will go see him play in a game before making an offer. He's certainly one to watch and could be a real steal for the Eagles.
-Tito Windham, DB, Gulfport
Offers: committed to Oklahoma
The skinny: Windham continues to hear from Southern Miss and has visited campus. He's always been intrigued by the Eagles, and loves their proximity to his home. It is still a long, uphill battle to get him to flip his commitment, but it is certainly not out of the question. 20%
-Logan Scott, WR/TE, Oak Grove
The skinny: Scott is an emerging 6'6 TE/WR who has really played well to start the season. He's been largely off the radar, but the Eagles are taking notice. Don't be surprised to start hearing his name pop up soon in recruiting in Mississippi.
-Sylvester Townes, OT, Coahoma CC
Offers: Western Kentucky, West Virginia, Southern Miss, Memphis
The skinny: The huge offensive lineman is really down to three schools, and says he might not decide before the end of the season. He's taking his visits to WKU, WVU, and USM, and will make his decision after that. The Eagles are telling him that he's right at the top of our list. Also, he grew up watching the program so he is very familiar with Southern Miss. 35%
-Tyus Raine, RB, Petal
The skinny: Talk about a prospect out to prove a point, Tyus Raine is doing just that. With excellent speed and shiftiness out of the backfield, Raine has really emerged so far this season with some monster games and big time numbers. He's going to force teams to take a closer look, and Southern Miss is taking notice. He'll be one to keep a close eye on.

He'll take a visit to Southern Miss, and watch closely for a commitment from him as the Eagles are looking to build the offensive line.
-Daniel Keith, OL, Florence
Offers: Ark St, Memphis, GA Southern, Memphis, Southern Miss, MTSU, USA, Wake Forrest
The skinny: Keith is a talented lineman who has a lot of options. Southern Miss is right in the mix, and had a big effect and impression on him at Junior Day last year. He'll take his visits, and hopes to make his decision toward the end of his season. 25%
-Deion Calhoun, OL/DL, Restoration Academy, Fairfield
Offers: Furman, MTSU, USM, Alabama St.
The skinny: There is nothing skinny about the huge OL/DL Deion Calhoun. He's a monster in the middle, and the Eagles are sitting in a great position for him. He camped with the Eagles in Birmingham, and right now has the Eagles as his #1 choice. Things look promising for a commitment from him. Nothing has changed here, Calhoun hears often from the Eagles, and a commitment is probably looming. The latest is he tells us he's taking his visits and will decide after those four. 60%
-Torrence Brown, DE, Tuscaloosa Academy
Offers: over 12- noteable: Ark St. NC St, Arizona St, USM The skinny: Way back when, Brown had one offer from Southern Miss, his first. Now, he's up to about 13 or 14. Ask Brown and he'll tell you that first offer from the Eagles really meant something to him. The Eagles are in the mix, but they have a ton of schools they'll have to battle for him. The talented DE would be a huge pick-up for the Eagles. Brown has recently put the Eagles in the top, and though he wasn't able to visit that first week, he's very much on board with Southern Miss. 50%
-Nicarius Peterson, Ath, McKenzie
Offers: App St., USM, USA, W. Kentucky
The skinny: Peterson is out of the mold of Emmanuel Johnson, current Eagle. He can do it all, and does do it all for 1A McKenzie HS. Southern Miss was in on him early, and he's really high on them and what they can offer him at the next level. USM also in the driver's seat here, but he'll need to commit soon or he might lose his chance. 40%
-Charles Buchannon, RB, Pleasant Valley HS
Offers: Close on a lot, but none that we are aware of yet.
The skinny: Buchannon is a name who is about to really emerge and take off in the state of Alabama. The talented RB was one the Eagle's staff talked to after the camp in Birmingham, and though he didn't get an offer there he certainly moved up the board. This week he is attending one of the top elite camps in the nation in Oregon. This is sure to elevate his status, and Southern Miss is right in the thick of things with him. Don't be surprised to see an offer come soon. 35%
-Christian Campbell, S, Phenix City
Offers: Arkansas State, Northern Illinois, Memphis, Southern Miss, South Alabama, UAB, Western Kentucky

-Jaley Harvey, DT, Clay Chalkville HS
Offers: Austin Peay

Offers: Southern Miss, ULM, Arkansas State
The skinny: Southern Miss is looking for some LB's for the future, and Wilson is a good one. He's 6'2, around 200 lbs, and moves really well for a LB. The Eagles are right in the mix for him and he appears to be holding off for a commitment until he can take some visits.
-Santos Ramirez, DB, Evangel Christian Academy, Shreveport
Offers: LSU, Southern Miss, Air Force, Memphis
The skinny: Ramirez appears to be almost a sure lock for LSU, but the Eagles are trying to get in on the talented DB. He could be one to watch if he doesn't commit soon to LSU because the door could close on him. Look for Southern Miss to continue to make a push after the big time DB.
-Jaevon Walton, LB, Edna Karr, New Orleans
Offers: committed to ULL, Southern Miss, Missouri, Memphis
The skinny: Walton just has made a note that he'd be visiting Southern Miss and Missouri on official visits this fall. He is committed to ULL, but anytime you can get a prospect on campus you have a chance. Just one to keep an eye on. 20%
