The senior from Mesquite, TX, talked about his visit with the Eagles this afternoon with GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I had a really good time it was a great place," Wagner said. "I just like the coaches they are very cool, and campus was amazing."
Wagner had a similar experience to the other JuCo prospects that were on campus.
"We ate a lot, the food was really good," he said.
"We walked on campus and looked at the dorm rooms. The Coaches and AD was talking to us about academics and how much it is stressed at Southern Miss.
"I told them my major and got to talk to academic advisers. Also the players talked to us about how much they love the program."
Southern Miss has certainly moved up the list for Wagner after that visit.
"They offered me two weeks ago," he said.
"I already liked the school, but being there just showed me how much of a family they are. Everyone was just real close and I loved that."
Though he was sold on the school, he is not ready to commit just yet.
"Southern Miss is in the top three, and maybe right there at the top but I'm not going to commit until I take all my visits."
The Eagles detailed a plan for the tall corner.
"They see me as a tall corner who can play man and lock someone down," he said.
"They think I'll learn the defense real fast and that it will be good for me."
