Local WR Talks USM Commitment

Southern Miss has added a late local WR to the commitment list for the class of 2014. He talked about his decision and how it all went down with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Southern Miss has added Jordan Mitchell, WR, from Oak Grove HS just down the road from campus.

Mitchell committed to Southern Miss after only being offered two hours ago.

"I am committed to Southern Miss and I couldn't be more excited!" Mitchell told GoldenEaglePride.com tonight.

"I have always been a fan of the Golden Eagles. I grew up watching them and going to the Rock. I love that school and to get the opportunity to play there is a dream come true."

Mitchell had a solid season for Oak Grove and will figure in to the offense at WR.

"The coaches loved my film and talked with Coach Barr about me," he said. "They just told me they see real potential in me to be a great WR for them.

"They just want me to come in and work hard. They also like that I've played in a similar offense as the one they run at Southern miss."

Mitchell said this was the offer he was hoping for.

"I went to camps at Southern Miss, I know all about the campus, and my teammate Picasso Nelson is there. We went against each other in practice every day.

"Its a dream come true for me. Again, I just couldn't be more excited."
