Eagles Offer Alabama Lineman

The Golden Eagles have once again looked to Alabama to find talent, and they've offered rising star Steven Clark of Brindlee Mtn. HS in Guntersville. He talked about the offer and where he stands in recruiting with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Some of the best talent around comes in the form of prospects from small towns in the south. The Eagles have identified one in Steven Clark, OL/DL from Guntersville, Alabama.

The talented lineman recently picked up an offer to Southern Miss, and he talked about it with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Clark is one who has played on both sides of the ball for Brindlee Mtn. High School, so he knows all about the trenches.

"We are a small 3A team so I pretty much have to play both sides," he said.

"I don't care where I play in college, I can do both equally. College coaches like me as an offensive guard and center as well. I have had a few like Cincinatti that like me on defense, but most see me on the offensive side of the ball."

Southern Miss has taken notice, and recently offered the talented rising star.

"They called me up during 8th period and we were talking on twitter," he said.

"I starting talking and Coach Woz introduced me to the head coach who offered me. I liked it because he said they don't just throw out offers. Anyone that gets an offer from them is someone they really want.

"They have what I want to major in, academics is huge for me. I could get hurt and very few people go to the NFL. I want to to major in sports management or sports nutrition."

Clark has also been offered by South Alabama and Furman. He's hearing from Cincinatti, Furman, and UAB in addition to his offers.

"I want to find a place that I can be treated well and accepted by my teammates and school. I want to go to a place who can push me to try for the NFL, but be a place I can get a good degree and fall back on my education."
