received some good news from the coaching staff at Southern Miss after the camp today held in Birmingham.
After watching many talented prospects work-out on the field of Parker High School, Schrimsher stood out and impressed the coaches with the way he worked.
"I felt like I had a great camp today, I worked hard and competed well," Schrimsher told GoldenEaglePride.com after camp today.
"I went through the agility drills as hard as I could and really that's all I can do."
The LB, 6'3 217lbs, from Athens, AL was able to talk to several coaches including Coach Monken after the camp.
"They extended an offer to me and it really felt great," he said. "That is the first time I've received an offer from a camp and it felt great to be able to actually earn it right in front of them like that."
Schrimsher said he was very impressed today with the Coaches at Southern Miss.
"I visited Southern Miss in the early spring, and I met some of the coaches," he said. "I enjoy Southern Miss a lot, its a great school and the coaches are just personable and friendly."
He also added that the offer was to play linebacker for the Eagles.
Schrimsher has offers currently to Memphis, MTSU, Arkansas State, Samford, South Alabama, and UAB in addition to now Southern Miss.
Southern Miss had over 150 prospects in Birmingham for their next stop during the traveling camp circuit. One prospect got some good news from the Eagles after camp, and he talked about it with GoldenEaglePride.com.
