Pope, a sophomore out of South Panola high school, was used last season mostly as a defensive end. This season, it seems as if a few newcomers to the line will allow him move to a tackle spot.
"Last season I played end, but it looks like this season I am going to be moving back inside" said Pope "All I have got to do is gain a little weight and get my strength up and I'll be alright."
Pope has been unable to participate in most of the spring drills so far due to an injury, but he is working hard to get out on to the field as soon as possible.
"I am rehabbing every morning and running and just trying to get my quickness back" said the sophomore "It is going good so far, they are working me real hard."
Pope is optimistic about this year's line compared to last year's, despite the loss of leadership from a few guys.
"This line definitely has more speed than last year and we can still stop the run pretty well. We don't have as many leaders because we lost Eric (Phillips) and (Demar) Dotson. I think that Rolando and Roshaad are going to step up and be the leaders for the team."
There are a few guys that Terrance has kept his eye on and he has been really impressed with all of the guys on the line.
"(Cordarro) Law has speed to kill, it's like he moves at a different pace than everybody else. Roshaad is always doing his thing, he doesn't talk too much, but he lets his play do the talking. Deddric (Jones) is always doing his thing out there."
One guy specifically that Pope has been impressed with is his roommate Willie Packer.
"Oh Willie Packer is doing great, that is my roommate so we talk every night and he is really showing me something. I will always holler at him to tell him that I am waiting on him to make a play and he always comes through and gives me a grin."
Terrance is hoping that he can come through this year and help his team reach the goals that they have set for themselves.
"Our team goal is to win C-USA, and that's it. My personal goal is just to help my team win. I'd like to get all-conference, but I want my team to win first."
