His fitting in well with the system was not the only factor that was involved with his decision to commit so early.
"It is really close to home and they showed a lot of potential last year and they have always had a good team" said the Senior-to-be out of Harrison Central.
There is a lot of concern over early commitments sometimes changing their mind later on in the process, but Furious is pretty confident in his decision with Southern Miss.
"I have a few things to wrap up, but my recruiting is pretty much over. I am going to be a Golden Eagle."
Going in to his senior season, Furious is hoping to show off his versatility on both sides of the ball.
"Offensively I am wanting to go over a thousand yards rushing and defensively I want to cover well and get a lot of tackles in the backfield."
It is still up in the air where Furious is going to play in college, but he seems to be more comfortable with the prospect of playing corner.
"I really want to play cornerback, but if I can put a little bit more weight on me I would love to play running back too."
Furious really showed his stuff at the camp in Ocean Springs with his most impressive drill definitely being the 40 time. He ran the fastest time in the camp with a 4.45 in that particular drill.
It is unsure what role he will play with the Golden Eagles, but it sure will be nice to have all that athleticism on the field.
