"It was a great experience and a lot of fun. I didn't try to do to much there, just be myself and play my game. I just had fun and did my best," he said.
The tall receiver (6'4") has been enjoying some down time over the Christmas break. When asked what he has been up to, he said, "Nothing really, enjoying Christmas break and spending a lot of time with my family. I have been working out hard as well though to make sure I'm ready for next season."
Unlike several players who are still deciding between schools, Triplett has not wavered any since his commitment to the Golden Eagles. In fact, he is going to take his visit to see the campus and talk to the coaches again.
"Oh yeah, I am totally committed to Southern Miss," he said. "I am going to go down there to visit on the 8th of January."
There were several reasons his commitment has not wavered. From his first visit, he knew this was the place for him. "When I went down there me and Coach Fedora got real close right away," he said.
"I also really liked the way they run their offense. I just like the school and know it will be a good place for me. I just fit right in," he said.
The allure of playing with another tall receiver also attracted him. "I met DeAndre Brown in a couple of the wide receiver meetings when I was visiting, and my cousin knows him so I've been able to spend some time with him. I don't know if he would remember me, but yeah, I am ready to play with him," he said.
Triplett is going to spend a few weeks trying to get some other guys to pledge to USM. "I tried real hard to get Nick Griffin to come during the MS/ AL game, and I'll keep talking to guys before signing day," he said.
With signing day around the corner, it is nice to have a settled commitment like Triplett already in hand. For continuing recruiting coverage, stay tuned to Goldeneaglepride.com.
