Now that the Conference USA regular season is officially over, it’s time for us to announce our all-C-USA teams. To no one’s surprise, the Most Outstanding Player Award goes to UCF’s dynamic shooting guard, Jermaine Taylor, who led the conference in scoring with a 26.6 ppg. average, setting a new C-USA record.   Full Story

The Memphis Tigers continue to flex their muscles, as they stay perfect in conference and are the hottest team in the nation with 19 consecutive wins. Rice and Marshall both recorded their first conference road victories of the season, as Rice overcame a record-setting performance by the great Jermaine Taylor. Houston and SMU were game opponents, but couldn’t seal the deal on the road.    Full Story

Another week has gone by in the C-USA and what else is new, Memphis is undefeated. John Calipari’s Tigers are playing stifling defense and some close early season contests have turned into blowouts. Memphis has now won 52 straight C-USA games, and there’s no end to their dominance in sight.   Full Story

The weather in Huntington was awful for Herd fans, as an estimated 200,000 in the Tri-State were without power due to a severe winter storm dumping sleet and ice on top of 5-6 inches of snow. While the Herd was as hot as the weather in Hattiesburg, Miss. in the first half, the second half was so cold, shooting-wise, that Southern Miss got out to a big lead and stole a 84-79 win at home from MU.   Full Story

Senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) recorded a game-high 31 points as the UCF men’s basketball team defeated Southern Miss, 73-61, in Conference USA play at the UCF Arena Wednesday. Sophomore guard Taylor Young (Orlando, Fla.) dished out a career-high nine assists without committing a turnover for the Knights (12-6, 2-2 C-USA).    Full Story

IRVING, Texas – Coming off an appearance in the 2008 NCAA National Championship title game and an NCAA-record 38 wins, the Memphis Tigers repeat as the unanimous pre-season favorite to win the C-USA men’s basketball regular-season crown in 2008-09, according to the league’s coaches. UAB Blazer Robert Vaden, an Indiana transfer in '07, was named the men’s basketball pre-season Player of the Year.   Full Story

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall forward Tirrell Baines (Laurens, S.C.) was named a CollegeHoops.net Second Team High-Major All-Freshman selection, as voted on by staff writers, the office announced today. Baines averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, the fourth and second highest totals, respectively, among Conference USA freshmen this season.   Full Story

The season ended for the University of Central Florida (16-15) on Thursday night, as they fell in the Conference USA Tournament to the fifth-seeded Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (19-13), 68-62.
